Robert E. Kass, alumnus of the Department of Statistics, PhD'80, and the Maurice Falk Professor of Statistics and Computational Neuroscience at Carnegie Mellon University, has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) in recognition of his distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. 

Rina Foygel Barber, Louis Block Professor, University of Chicago, has been named Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS).
