The Department welcomes two new faculty: Nikolaos (Nikos) Ignatiadis, assistant professor, and Ryan McShane, assistant instructional professor, to the Department of Statistics, and the Data Science Institute.
Nikos is interested in empirical Bayes methods, causal inference, multiple testing and statistical analysis in the presence of contextual side information, and his research often draws upon nonparametrics and convex optimization.
Ryan's interests include intransitivity in paired comparisons, sports analytics, nonparametric methods, and interdisciplinary research.
