Congratulations to Matthew Oline, PhD student in the Committee on Computational and Applied Mathematics. He is one of six recipients to receive the 2023-24 Physical Sciences Teaching Prize.
"These awards are based on nominations from undergraduate students and their students provided compelling evidence of the outstanding contributions they made to undergrad education. Excellence in teaching is a fundamental goal of the University and Minjun, Duncan, Matthew, Haynes, Kristina, John and Quan exemplify this standard by fostering a love of learning in classes that students were previously fearful of, by expressing belief in their students’ abilities to overcome adversity and challenges, by creatively and persistently ensuring that students were mastering concepts, and by maintaining a level of commitment to their students’ success that goes beyond expectations. We are grateful for all the ways they have enhanced our students’ educational experiences and advanced the mission of our university."
