Research

I am interested in graphical Markov models as well as in the application of algebraic techniques in statistics (algebraic statistics). Recent projects are concerned with:

  • statistical inference in complex graphical models based on chain graphs
    and path diagrams;
  • development of graphical models for categorical data;
  • study of the (algebraic) geometry of the parameter spaces of graphical
    models with hidden variables;
  • connections between geometry of parameter spaces and properties of
    statistical procedures such as the likelihood ratio test.
