Title: Asymptotic Analysis

Description: This course in an introduction to standard methods of asymptotic analysis frequently encountered in applied mathematics. Topics will include: perturbation results for polynomial roots and eigenvalues, Laplace's method, stationary phase, steepest descent, WKB, and boundary layers. The course material will be a balance of rigorous analysis of methods and formal derivations. Tentatively, the textbook will be "Applied Asymptotic Analysis" by Peter Miller.
