Title: Causal Inference with Machine Learning
Instructor(s): Victor Veitch
Teaching Assistant(s): TBA
Class Schedule: Section 1: TR 11:20 AM–12:40 PM (Remote)
Description: This course is an introduction to causal inference from observational data with an emphasis on the role of machine learning. We'll cover both foundations of causality---causal graphs and identification results---and practical aspects of causal estimation. Time permitting, we'll also look at how causal formalism affects the practice of machine learning.
Prerequisite(s): Background in machine learning; enrolled PhD or MS student in Statistics, Computational and Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science, or consent of instructor.
