Prof. Emmanuel Candès, the Barnum-Simons Chair in Mathematics and Statistics at Stanford University, will give the 23rd Annual Bahadur Lectures on Monday, April 29th, 2024, and Wednesday, May 1st, 2024.

Prof. Yuehaw Khoo is among five UChicago scholars awarded a prestigious Sloan Fellowship in 2024.

Prof. Rebecca Willett has been awarded the inaugural SIAM Activity Group on Data Science Career Prize (SIAG/DATA Career Prize). 

The prize will be awarded at the 2024 SIAM Conference on Mathematics of Data Science (MDS24) to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, United States from October 21 – 25, 2024.

Congratulations to Cong Ma and co-authors Kaizheng Wang, Yuejie Chi, and Yuxin Chen on receiving the 2024 SIAG/Imaging Science Best Paper Prize for their work "Implicit Regularization in Nonconvex Statistical Estimation: Gradient Descent Converges Linearly for Phase Retrieval, Matrix Completion, and Blind Deconvolution" published on Foundations of Computational Mathematics.
