Community Volunteering Events

We prepared an Easter Sunday dinner with roast chicken and carrots, sweet potato casserole, a roast vegetable medley, spring salad, and dessert for 10 families staying at the Comer house.

April 23, 2022: Repack day at the Greater Chicago Food Depository 

We helped repack oranges for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which is a food bank that provides food to over 700 partners in Cook County.

May 14, 2022: Ecological Stewardship Day/Chicago River Day with the Cook County Forest Preserves (at Egger's Grove) 

Volunteers helped maintain and clean the Egger's Grove park by pulling invasive garlic mustard.

Volunteers helped cut, clear, and burn dead branches and dry brush to prepare for replanting native species.

October 15, 2022: Ecological Stewardship Days at Cap Sauer's Holdings

We helped cut, clear, and burn honeysuckle, an invasive plant species in Cap Sauers Holdings. Our work helps maintain the forest preserve and provides native plants more room to grow.

  • Health Outreach Bus with the Night Ministry 

    We prepared 50 bagged meals and delivered them to the Night Ministry's Health Outreach Bus at Division and California. There, we served the unhoused and impoverished who rely on the outreach bus for food.
